11 hours from Bismarck to the park the times I've driven. Not really that bad even going solo. No need for a radar detector, just take it easy going through the small towns on US 2---which is the way to go. Take the smaller state highways from Glendive up to Wolf Point. I can't recall ever seeing a state patrol squad on the Interstate in either ND or MT.

Have you been to the Granite Park Chalet before? IMO the scenery is far better than Sperry, though I think Sperry's dayhiking opportunity's are superior.
