I like that earth-bermed rest stop on US-2 between Minot and Williston at 3:00AM. Summer night, no traffic, low intermittant breeze, wife and two older kids asleep in the van, me and the youngest sitting on a bench, she half-asleep, cuddling to keep warm, clear starry sky, and infinite quiet. One car goes by, and then it's even quieter.
Sprague Creek Camp next day.
