we were younger and could handle it. No problem, leave Mpls. at 3 pm, drive all night, all the same stops every time and reach the park between 10 and 11 am. The white crosses freaked us out the first time though! I wish we could still manage this. But as RJM has pointed out to me, just wait til the kids are old enough to drive...then let them drive and we can sleep!
