I've looked over the GNP site and am still a little unclear about how reserving backcountry camping sites work. I'm planning a trip to the park in August and am in the process of working out a couple of 2-3 day backcountry hikes. My questions: How do you go about reserving a backcountry site? What are the chances of getting your first choice at this time of the year? When and how do you usually find out whether or not you got the reservations? Anything else I should be considering? .... Any and all helpful comments for this novice are truly appreciated!
