For me at least, the process worked very well this summer, I got all my sites on the dates requested. I believe the most important factors are submitting your request early, between April 1st and 15th, so it s in the first batch. Then they shuffle and start processing from the top. Also make sure you read the instructions and fill out the form correctly, for example don t request a site before the listed available date. I faxed my request on April 2nd and received a positive response via email on April 19th, it was permit #110

Of course it s pure torture waiting the 3-4 months for the trip to start!

I would download and fill out the form early, that way you can come back to this site and ask any specific questions. I corresponded with the NPS at GNP via email with several questions, but they were very slow to respond and sometimes they didn't understand the question. Don't submit before April 1st
